Alfavita Newsroom The research group of Cristos Delidakis is interested in recruiting one graduate student (at the PhD level) to study a model of nervous tissue tumorigenesis in Drosophila. The position will be funded by the WWCR programme 16-0388 "Investigating the role of Notch in neural stem cell malignanicies in Drosophila" for 2018 with the option to renew for 2019. The student will work in close collaboration with incoming postdoctoral fellow Evanthia Zacharioudaki.
Position description: Genetic analysis, imaging and molecular profiling of a tumour model caused by the deregulation of the Notch signalling pathway. Elucidation of the cellular and molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis by a study of interacting factors with the Notch pathway.
Contract duration: One year
Monthly scholarship: € 750
Estimated starting date: September 1, 2018
Qualifications: Prior degree and/or MSc in Biology or a related topic. Experience in genetics and genomics will be positively evaluated. Fluency in English. Some knowledge of Greek.

Evaluation procedure
Applications will be evaluated by a three-member evaluation committee. In case of interview procedure, candidates will be invited to participate in person or teleconference.
The announcement of the results will be posted on the website of FORTH-IMBB.
The selected candidates will be notified personally regarding the success of their application and will be requested to submit certified copies of their degrees. In the event that the documents submitted do not agree with the original application the candidates will be dismissed.
